Critical race theory (CRT) argues, as a starting point, that the axis of American social life is fundamentally constructed in race.
CRT is primarily concerned with power, which it holds in higher regard than truth(CRT holds that assertions of truth are an attempt to claim power). Second, it differs from “traditional” civil rights and instead favors identity politics. Third, it is interested in revolution rather than progress. Fourth, it calls into question “the very foundations of the liberal order, including equality theory, legal reasoning, Enlightenment rationalism, and neutral principles of constitutional law.” That positions CRT as explicitly anti-Western and, in the narrower context in which it arose and mostly applies, anti-American.
